Der FEI Pferdesport umfasste an der letztjährigen WEG in Kentucky acht Disziplinen. Neu mag Polo als neunte Disziplin dazukommen. Wie ist es dazu gekommen? Als der schwedische Graf Clarence von Rosen nach mehreren Anläufen für 1912 in Stockholm ein Olympisches Pferdesportprogramm zusammenstellen konnte, wählte er drei Disziplinen: Springen, Dressur und Vielseitigkeit. Es war ein Geniestreich.
